Hi gang, how we all doing? Terrified at the prospects of the US election tomorrow? Dissociating from the state of the world? Me too!
Well I can’t really help with any of that, but I can point you in the direction of a print I’ve made with Spoke Art that I am very very proud of.
You can find it right here or by clicking the photo below:
To celebrate Godzilla day and the fact that the big green (or red as is the case here) guy turns 70 years old, in collaboration with Toho and Ghostxghost I made this poster celebrating his first outing.
You may notice that it looks a little different to some of my more recent output and that is because I… drew it by hand. Well sorta anyway. Instead of working in Photoshop and Procreate, all the elements were drawn on actual pieces of paper and then scanned/composited/colored digitally. It took twice as long as usual and i had to redraw it multiple times, but i couldn’t be happier with the result. I am very excited to see it printed and I hope you all like it too. I definitely wont be making all my posters this way, but I hope I’ll find a way to incorporate some of the tricks I picked up here into my process.
If you’ve read down this far then thank you, and your reward is a reminder that my other Godzilla piece is still available from Spoke-Art. After a slight delay it is now printed and should be in hand at the gallery shortly. It was printed by the mighty Danny Askar who is an absolute master of the art and printed my Cowboy Bebop pieces last year - we remember how great they looked right?
That’s all folks, back to doom scrolling! Take care and be excellent to each other.
